Seals are subject to long-term, strong thermal and mechanical stresses, which lead to their wear. Over time, the seals become fatigued, and their function can decrease unnoticed. This can allow cold, drafts and moisture to enter the house, leading to increased energy consumption and an uncomfortable indoor climate. By replacing the seals, energy costs can be reduced, the lifespan of the windows extended and a comfortable living climate created. It is not necessary to replace the entire window, the appropriate seal extends the lifespan of the window many times over!

After many years, windows can warp, so that the fitting technology can no longer be optimally adjusted. This creates a new situation, as the sealing surface between the frame and sash has changed. A stronger window seal is needed, as the original seals are not suitable for the grown gap.

In order to determine the right seal for you, we need a photo of the cross-section of your seal. Simply pull the seal out of the groove and cut it through (do not cut it off!). Based on this photo, we can identify the appropriate seal and send you a sample free of charge.

Various criteria play a role in the selection of the appropriate seal, such as the material, size and application area. For 30 years, we have made it our mission to help you. We are happy to advise you!

First of all, you can simply replace the seals yourself. Pay attention to the correct size and suitable material, precise measuring and cutting.

The installation: To renew seals on windows and doors, the old rubber must first be removed without residue. The brittle material can be loosened with a sharp object. A utility knife and silicone spray facilitate the process. Then cut the new seal material to size and apply it piece by piece. It is important to ensure that the seal material is not pulled too long, as the window seal could otherwise contract again and a gap would be created. Therefore, we cut off 1 cm more. There are various ways to install window seals, often the shape of the seal or the size of the seal determines the appropriate installation method. Further information can be found here.

We differentiate between window seals for wood, plastic or aluminum. Our seals are made of TPE and silicone. Both materials are excellent bases for seals and are characterized by high functionality in windows and doors.

Window seals should be replaced at the latest after 15 – 20 years. The lifespan varies depending on the stress on the seal, installation method, weather conditions and care. Regular maintenance and cleaning can extend the lifespan of the seals.

We recommend that after installing new window seals, regular maintenance measures be carried out to maintain their function and shape. It is important that the seals remain dry and are protected from moisture. In winter, they should be checked for moisture and, if necessary, cared for with silicone spray.

Signs of a defective seal can include:
  • Drafts
  • leaky spots or cracks in the seals
  • cold near the window
  • moisture or condensation
  • increased energy costs due to heat loss
  • mold formation

Seals for windows and doors have been our motto for almost 30 years. Free advice on the subject of new seals is a matter of course for us. Simply ask us or send us an e-mail.

Daily use and constantly changing temperatures over many years lead to signs of wear and tear and are often the main reasons for defective window seals and leaking windows.

Basically, the function of windows or doors depends on an optimally functioning window or door seal. Unpleasant and unhealthy draughts and ever-increasing energy costs are the result of poor seals. New window seals are needed now, but which seal do I need for my windows?

It's not an easy question, because the choice of a new window seal for your own windows is huge and it seems almost impossible. But you've come to the right place - we'll be happy to help you find new window seals. Our range includes a variety of seals for windows and doors.

Based on our many years of experience, we have developed new special silicone window seals for UPVC windows. These silicone seals are particularly suitable for retrofitting older window systems. Often the manufacturer of your window seals is no longer known, or the original seal is not sufficient to make the window "tight" again.

It often happens that the windows have warped after many years or the hardware technology can no longer be optimally adjusted. In this case, a completely new situation arises because the new sealing surface between the frame and sash has changed. A stronger window seal is now required to make the window tight again. The original window seals are not designed to seal the now larger gap on the window. Now good advice is expensive, because only millimeters are missing to seal the window.
The solution is our new special silicone window seals for UPVC windows. See for yourself:

Make everything tight again with the right window seal

To ensure that your home stays nice and warm in winter and that no unnecessary energy is lost, you not only need a functioning heating system, but also tight windows and doors. If the window seals are porous or no longer tight, for example, the heated air escapes and you are effectively heating for the environment. You should therefore regularly check the window seals on your windows and replace them if necessary.

If you notice that one or more window seals need to be replaced, you should not hesitate for long and replace them. Fortunately, you can easily find the right window seal in our online store. Replacing window seals is easy and with a little skill you can do it yourself. Finding suitable window seals is often more difficult than installing new ones. Tight windows ensure that you can feel comfortable. The warm air stays inside your own four walls and also saves energy costs!

We generally offer a wide range of different door and window seals. The chance of finding suitable seals, even for older windows, is relatively high. Window seals come in different shapes, widths and heights and are predominantly black.

The importance of good window seals often becomes apparent in winter. Old, porous window seals are often no longer tight. The result: frequent draughts in the home, which also doesn't get really warm, even though you turn the heating up like crazy. Not only do you have to pay unnecessarily high heating costs after the winter, but you may also catch a cold from the cold air in your home. With suitable new window seals that seal the windows again for many years, you save money in the long term through lower heating costs and also keep your home pleasantly warm.

In addition to silicone, window seals are nowadays mainly made of TPE. Both materials are ideal as a basis for seals and are characterized by their high functionality in windows and doors. You can find more information on this under the topic of materials on our website.

After installing new window seals, we recommend that you maintain them regularly. This prolongs the function and shape of new seals. Window seals should always be kept dry and protected from condensation or rain. If the window seals are damp, they should be wiped with a cloth and dried again. Especially in winter, when the outside temperature and room temperature vary greatly, you should check frequently to see if the window seals are still dry. You should also use a silicone spray to provide additional care in winter, for example. This preserves the elasticity and function. With this knowledge and the right window seal, the cold days of winter can come and your home will always stay nice and warm.
